 General Questions

  • EmpoweredUth, EduConnect (EUEC) aims to empower young students, especially immigrants, by providing free educational resources, mentorship, and leadership opportunities. We believe that every child, regardless of their background, deserves access to quality education and support. Our mission is to create a platform where students can develop academically, creatively, and socially.

  • EUEC stands out for its commitment to creating a collaborative environment where students are encouraged to learn together and support one another. Our courses, designed specifically for students in grades 1-8, are tailored to different learning stages and interests. Supported by donations, all lessons are free, ensuring education is accessible to all, regardless of background.

 Donations

  • You can help sustain our free educational programs by donating through our Donation Page. Every contribution goes towards enhancing the learning experience for students and making a lasting impact on their education.

  • Donations support the development and delivery of free lessons, materials, and events. We ensure that every dollar is used to provide students with the resources they need to succeed academically and grow as individuals.

  • Yes, you can choose to sponsor a specific program such as a holiday event. Visit our partnerships page to learn more about how you can make a difference.

  • EmpoweredUth, EduConnect (EUEC) is a registered youth-led non-profit in Ontario. Donations support our free tutoring, leadership programs, community events, and Summer Camp, helping newcomer, immigrant, and underserved youth thrive. We are only a registered non-profit, not a CRA-registered charity, so donations are not eligible for charitable tax receipts. For questions or changes, please contact info@euec.org.

 Volunteer & Joining Us!

  • If you want to volunteer for events, help with lessons, or contribute on a short-term basis, you can apply as a volunteer. Simply fill out the form on our Volunteer Page.

  • If you're interested in becoming part of the EUEC crew, where you will help run programs and take on leadership roles, you need to go through our "Join Us" process. This involves an interview to ensure you're a good fit for our team. Check the Join Us Page for more details on available positions and how to apply.

  • For regular volunteers, an interview may not always be required, depending on the role. However, if you want to join the core team to help run EUEC programs, an interview is mandatory to ensure the best fit.

  • The number of volunteer hours depends on how much you participate. If you're volunteering for events or teaching lessons, the hours will reflect your time commitment. These are high-quality hours, and we ensure that volunteers make a meaningful impact.

  • EmpoweredUth, EduConnect (EUEC) is looking for motivated, reliable, and compassionate high school student volunteers (Grades 9–12) who are passionate about supporting immigrant and newcomer youth. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds who are eager to give back and grow through leadership, tutoring, or event-based roles.

    We categorize in 2 types of volunteers:

    • 📘 Academic Volunteers who are confident in subjects like English, Math, Science, French, Mandarin, or Coding, and can commit to at least 1 hour/week for online tutoring.

    • 🎉 Event Volunteers who enjoy organizing, supporting, or running educational and community events (both in-person and online).

    No prior experience is needed — just a strong sense of responsibility, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in helping others succeed.

 Events

  • EUEC hosts various engaging events throughout the year, including:

    • Holiday Events: Fun, seasonal activities for students to enjoy across all four seasons.

    • Summer Camps: Exciting educational camps held during June and July, offering students an opportunity to learn and explore new skills in a fun environment.

    • Art Shows & Performances: Showcasing the creativity and talents of our students through exhibitions and performances.

    • Back-to-School Events: Special workshops and activities to help kick off the school year.

    • Fundraisers & Community Engagements: Events designed to bring the community together and support our mission.

  • You can stay updated on our events by subscribing to our newsletter or following us on social media. We frequently post updates about upcoming events, activities, and new programs.

  • Yes, most of our events are free for all participants. Occasionally, we may host fundraising events to support our programs, but these are optional, and any participation fees are clearly communicated in advance.

 Lessons & Courses

  • EUEC offers a variety of age-specific, free courses for students in grades 1-8, including:

    • Public Speaking & Debate: Helping students build communication and confidence.

    • Math Tutoring: Offering support for different levels of math.

    • Coding & Technology: Introducing students to programming and game design.

    • Book Talks: Encouraging critical thinking through reading discussions.

    • Art Sessions: Allowing students to explore their creativity through drawing and painting.

  • Yes! We believe education should be accessible to all, which is why we proudly offer these resources completely free of charge. However, we truly rely on donations to keep our programs running—your support helps us cover essential costs like materials, venue rentals, and instructor fees. Every contribution makes a difference!

  • Yes, our courses are designed specifically for students in grades 1-8, ensuring that each program is suitable for the age group and developmental stage of the participants.
